Colombian escort, 31, is shot dead inside her apartment in Mexico

A $76-per-hour escort girl has been shot dead in her Mexico City apartment after advertising her sexual services online. 

The semi-nude lifeless body of Laura Cristina Ovalle was discovered by her housekeeper, Areli Cruz, Tuesday at 8.30am. 

According to the Mexico City Attorney General’s office, the 31-year-old Colombian woman worked as an escort girl.

Ovalle was found lying on the second floor apartment’s hallway floor in a pool of blood, according to Mexican outlet Contra Replica.

A forensic report released Wednesday indicated she was shot once in the head. Investigators also discovered the suspect’s fingerprints as well as a footprint on her head.

Images taken by investigators from Mexico City’s Secretariat of Public Safety office showed several blood stain marks splattered on the floor. Investigators found fingerprints of the suspect as well as a footprint on her head

Surveillance cameras of the building, which is located in the municipality of Granada and is safeguarded by eight security guards, showed a male suspect walking out of the building and fleeing.

Authorities have not revealed at what time the individual left Ovalle’s residence.

Ovalle described herself as a ‘Latina doll, a very sweet angel and a real woman’ on her Twitter account, @khaterinvip50.

Her last tweet on Monday was a promotional video in Spanish in which she said: ‘Hi there cuties, how are you all doing? I am Khaterin VIP. I am waiting on you so that we can have an unrivaled time.’ 

A separate tweet that was written in Spanish said: ‘Hi handsome gentlemen. Remember it is [1,500 Mexican pesos, or $76] per hour at my apartment in Polanco. Remember that everything is included, anal, oral … massages … unlimited intercourse. For every five appointments, the sixth is free …’ 

She also charged an hourly rate of $100 for visits at private homes and hotels.

However, a close friend of the victim told Contra Replica that Ovalle had doubts concerning her safety and preferred working out of her own apartment.

‘She didn’t like going to hotels or going to other places. She said she it was not secure, that she was afraid that the police could come and stop her or that someone would do something to her,’ said a woman who only identified herself as Alejandra. 

‘And look, in the end she was murdered inside her own house.’

Ovalle first arrived in Mexico in 2017. She worked different jobs and even modeled, but turned to the escort business because the money that she was earning was not sufficient to help her family back home in Ibagué, a city in western Colombia.

However, the money that she made as an escort was not enough to cover her monthly rental payments on time on several occasions.

The last person who had any kind of contact with Ovalle was her landlord Monday at approximately 10pm when they spoke about allotting her additional time to cover August’s rent. 

Ovalle is the seventh foreigner since February 2017 who has moved to Mexico to work in the escort business and ended up dead.

According to Cruz, Ovalle saw three different male clients Monday before she ended her shift at 5pm.

Her distraught mother is begging Mexico’s president for assistance in expatriating her body. 

‘Please help me with my daughter’s case, that the case does not go unpunished,’ her mother Liliana Quintero said Tuesday in an interview with Imagen TV. 

‘Let them find the person who did this. My God, it is easy, it is on the cameras, it is easy because of the call she received, the last calls. Please do not let this go unpunished. Not only mine, so many, so many daughters that are out there lost and we don’t know where. At least we know where mine was at.’
