An incredible dog called Colt has been filmed as it packs its injured owner’s shopping cart to help her get through daily life in this heart-warming video.
Janaye suffered a severe traumatic brain injury after a boating accident in 2012 which left her susceptible to seizures and loss of consciousness.
And although Colt’s adeptness at shopping at home in Colorado is very helpful, it is not his only skill and he is a vital help in other ways too.
Janaye’s head injury causes convulsions and loss of consciousness but Colt can sense when such injuries are about to occur and warns her with his paw.
He brings her medication if she is incapacitated, and when she has a convulsion, he slides a pillow under head to protect her fragile head from further injury.
Janaye has a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign which is helping her raise money for a SmartDrive wheelchair, which will make life for her and Colt a lot easier.
Janaye said that Colt has enriched her life in so many ways and made a difficult and ongoing rehabilitation process much easier and more fun.
‘I am so blessed to have him. All the rehab and physical therapy were easier with him by my side. Thank you Colt,’ Janaye said on her Facebook page.
Janaye wrote on Instagram that her problems began after a boating accident.
‘I was tubing behind a boat and a jet skier hit me.

‘I was in coma for about two weeks, had open brain surgery and inpatient rehab for a year learning to walk, talk, read, write and everything all over again (I barely remember that time).
‘After inpatient rehab and returning home we started the search for Service Dog Colt and a few months later had him specially chosen to become my service dog.’
People online have fallen in love with Colt almost as much as Janaye has.
