Comic con costumes descend on Birmingham

Comic book fans decked out in their best cosplay descended on Birmingham this weekend to celebrate all the heroes and villains of fantasy and science fiction. 

The MCM Comic Con convention is held twice a year in Birmingham, presenting two days of talks and trades for creators and collectors of graphic novels, comics and anime. 

Many of the attendees choose to dawn costumes of their favourite characters, whether Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad, Heisenberg from Breaking Bad or a Klingon from Star Trek. 

The costumes seem to be getting better every year.

The convention ran from 18 November through to 19 November with a costume prize given out each day, awarded to those who take their authenticity rather seriously.

Attention to detail was paid seriously to both weapons and makeup, making many of the attendees look like they had jumped straight out of a comic book’s pages.
