Competitive eater Nela Zisser shares how she ate 10,000 calories of KFC in 42 MINUTES

It took petite competitive eater Nela Zisser just 42 minutes to scoff down a huge KFC meal worth nearly 10,000 calories.

The 29-year-old medical student from Auckland, New Zealand devoured 20 ‘wicked wings’, eight chicken pieces, two Zinger burgers, three regular fries, popcorn chicken, two tubs of gravy, coleslaw and two cups of Coca-Cola.

The massive order would be enough to feed a large family, but Nela attempted to complete it herself – leaving only a couple pieces of chicken and some fries behind.

The 55kg student told FEMAIL she was ‘fine’ during the challenge but felt incredibly full later on – and claims she’s never concerned about her health.

To get through the giant food haul, Nela said she thought about nothing else but the task at hand.

‘I get into a zone where I’m 100 per cent focused on the challenge,’ she said.

Nela started the unique hobby in 2014 after being encouraged by her mum to enter her first competition – a pizza-eating contest.

At first she kept saying no and was hesitant to enter but signed up the day qualifying sign-ups were due.

‘I ended up going into the restaurant at 10pm the night before the qualifiers closed and setting a really good time finishing their chicken and tomato pizza, even though we only had to eat the cheese one,’ she said.

A couple months later she participated in the contest and had to eat as many pizza slices as possible in 12 minutes – and she managed to eat 12 pieces.

To her surprise, she came first in the contest against 19 large men.

‘It was such an amazing feeling and I was super proud of winning that contest,’ Nela said, recalling the event.

What was part of the huge KFC meal?

Wicked wings x 20 = 3,400 calories

Secret recipe chicken x 8 = 2,208 calories

Zinger stacker burger = 795 calories

Zinger burger = 484 calories

Large fries = 630 calories

Regular fries x 3 = 882 calories

Mini popcorn chicken = 180 calories

Plain gravy x 2 = 422 calories

Coleslaw = 380 calories

Regular coke = 140 calories

Large coke = 290 calories

Total = 9,811 calories

From then on, Nela continued fuelling her passion for food by participating in competitive eating competitions and now films herself eating in YouTube videos.

Previously she’s also attempted to eat 2kg worth of Nutella, 100 chicken nuggets and 10 spicy Korean hot dogs.

On one occasion she ate a McDonald’s happy meal in just 37 seconds.

When it comes to her health, Nela isn’t worried about eating the excessive amount of calories and stays fit by working out at home – but never steps foot into a gym.

‘I’m very active in daily life and eat healthy. I don’t gym currently but do a lot of walking and exercising,’ she said.

Nela doesn’t eat any food the day of a competition and in her regular everyday life she opts for average size meals.

Her diet consists of plenty of fruits and vegetables along with lean meats.

And despite the nature of the hobby, she doesn’t consider herself to be a competitive person.

‘I enjoy winning but it’s more about the experiences for me!’ she said.
