Premier League clubs are set to give the green light this week for the use of permanent concussion substitutes for the second half of the season.
The FA have already decided to trial concussion substitutes in the FA Cup third round, Women’s Super League and Women’s FA Cup.
Top-flight clubs are expected to back a trial that will allow teams to make an extra substitution when a player is suspected to have been concussed rather than running the risk of having them play on.

It is hoped the move will prevent players from staying on the pitch after they have suffered a blow to the head.
The issue was placed under intense scrutiny earlier this month when Wolves striker Raul Jimenez suffered a fractured skull when he clashed heads with Arsenal defender David Luiz. The Brazilian Luiz played on for the rest of the first half — a move that received criticism.
