He was defeated by Floyd Mayweather in an eagerly anticipated boxing match in Las Vegas in August.

But Conor McGregor proved he was always destined for stardom as incredible new footage has been unearthed of him dancing back in Ireland in 1996 at the age of seven.

The Irish UFC star, 29, who is now worth an estimated £81 million, can be seen looking adorable as he shows off his fancy footwork at a Holy Communion at a Catholic ceremony.

The star, who is now a world renowned athlete, can be seen sporting an adorable haircut and a grey suit as he smiles to the camera outside of the church.

Footage then cuts to inside the venue where he proceeds to show off his Irish dancing skills alongside another little boy.

While he is dancing away, four girls, two on both sides, can be seen  linking arms before they go on to skip around him.

An arch is made by the boys, before all six of them links arms to continue to the Irish dance spectacle.

The video then ends on yet another sweet note as he raises his arms and grins hilariously for the camera.

This comes after the UFC icon eventually lost his debut boxing contest against Flloyd after being stopped in the 10th round in Las Vegas.

However, much of the pre-fight build-up centred around whether McGregor would look to catch Mayweather with an illegal move in a bid to be the first man to beat the five-weight world champion.

He ultimately kept within the rules but, had he opted to stray from the laws of boxing, McGregor would have been hit with a fine which would have made a significant dent in £100m he is expected to have earned in Vegas.

Connor also revealed he would have been fined $10million (£7.5m) had he been disqualified for an illegal move, like many suggested he may be prior to the contest.

McGregor said: ‘Here’s when I knew I was up against it: The ref was like, even if I lift my leg up, it’s a point deduction. I’m like, “How is that a point deduction without even a warning?”

‘So they’re telling me they’re going to deduct points straight off the bat. And if I do get disqualified for any reason, it was a $10million fine. Ten million f***ing dollars.’
