Conservative host shocks with crude remark about Tim Walz ‘humping’ CNN anchor’s leg

Ben Shapiro compared potential vice president Tim Walz to a ‘very eager’ corgi who would start ‘humping’ a CNN anchor’s leg to distract from Kamala Harris’ potential interview fumbles.

The Conservative commentator made the awkward juxtaposition on his program Thursday night ahead of Walz’s and Harris’ highly anticipated appearance on CNN.

Shapiro, 40, predicted the excursion would prove to be a pitfall for the pair – one where an inexperienced Harris would end up struggling.

He said that Walz, in turn, would revert to the simple persona he’s supposedly become known for – ‘very eager not particularly bright’, Shapiro said.

Shapiro compared then compared Walz to a canine, joking that he would even start ‘humping’ anchor Dana Bash as a distraction.

‘He’s like a corgi of politics: very eager not particularly bright,’ said Shapiro of the 60-year-old governor.

‘If things start to get a little out of control, like, you know, she’s asked a real question, Tim Walz can jump in and start gesticulating wildly with his hands.  

‘Being a weirdo… So that’ll be really exciting,’ he said.

Of Harris, he said, ‘She’s going to need his help – because here’s the problem.

‘Every time she goes off script… she’s a disaster area.’

He went on to concede the race between Harris and Donald Trump is close –  even more cause to keep Harris away from the limelight, he said.

‘Harris is pre-taping that interview today because of course they were never going to allow her live in front of a camera by herself’, he said of the segment airing later Thursday night.

He said she would benefit from having have her ’emotional support dog Tim Walz there’, to ‘pet him and feel good.’

Shapiro drew the comparison again when speaking again about Harris’s supposed hesitance to do interviews.

He claimed she was bringing Walz along to take attention away from her.  

‘It is amazing, [the] Democrat-media human centipede,’ Shapiro said. ‘They are trying to proclaim that this is nothing new.

‘After all, when a presidential candidate selects a vice president, they very often do some sort of joint interview – Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney did a joint interview, Hillary Clinton – Tim Kaine, it’s pretty normal. 

‘The difference is, usually the person who has been running for president has done a few interviews before being the nominee.

‘Kamala Harris has done zero public interviews before being the nominee or after being the nominee, as it turns out,’ Shapiro pointed out.

‘The reason that she’s bringing along Tim Walz is to eat up the time.’

He added: ‘She’s hoping the Dana Bash over CNN will make the interview all about their relationship… and how how they’re really simpatico –  how they’re going to work together in the White House and avoid all issues.

‘And if there is an issue, again, the corgi jumps up and starts humping Dana Bash’s leg, presumably,’ the conservative went on to joke.

‘That is how this interview – they hope – is going to work.’

The sit-down interview – billed as ‘The First Interview: Harris & Walz, A CNN Exclusive’ – was recorded in Savannah, Georgia.
