Coronavirus Germany: US military employee didn’t spread infection

A German probe into a female US military employee who was accused of being a super-spreader after going on a pub crawl with Covid-19 has found no evidence that she infected anyone.

Yasmin Adli, 26, from Florida, had recently returned from vacation in Greece when she went partying for several nights in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, despite having a sore throat.

On Tuesday, Adli was cleared of having infected anyone when she went bar-hopping in the Bavarian ski resort during what she called her ‘rona party.’

However, Adli still faces potential prosecution for ‘negligent bodily harm’ and is alleged to have kissed several of her co-workers during her nights on the town.

Tuesday’s announcement did not make clear whether these amounted to criminal charges or if Adli might be handed a warning or fine instead.

It noted that the links between infected people in the resort town ‘could not be fully clarified,’ according to Munich-based broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk.

The report said that ‘corresponding complaints had been filed with prosecutors in Munich’ and that the investigation remains ongoing.

It was previously reported that the 26-year-old had exposed as many as 710 people to the deadly virus following her return from Greece.

The resort, a Defense Department-owned Armed Forces Recreation Center used by US military personnel and their families, was shut down for two weeks after 20 people staying there tested positive.

In a screenshot of a text message allegedly sent by Adli to other co-workers who partied with her on multiple nights in the lead-up to her positive test, she claimed ‘I didn’t know I had the rona when we went out’.

A former employee claimed Adli also remained working at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort before she tested positive, setting up a conference for US military top brass about preventing the spread of coronavirus.

A source told DailyMail.com that employees have one last blow-out with friends once their contracts come to an end.

A source told DailyMail.com that on the night Adli visited Peaches, a large group of staff were leaving and she kissed several other employees. At this time, she was said to be feeling too sick to return to work.

She had also worked in the hotel upon her return, serving guests and staff in the hotel’s Cafe and setting up conference rooms until the day she went for a coronavirus test, it is alleged.

US Army spokesman Donald Wrenn told German paper Bild last month: ‘For US civilian employees, the Bavarian regulations for the prevention of infectious diseases apply, just like for every German citizen.

‘The US Army in Bavaria keeps its soldiers and civilians as well as the Bavarian ordinances with regard to limiting the spread of the virus to a high standard.

‘Any violation of these regulations would be inconsistent with our behavior and our efforts to keep our communities safe.

‘Our main focus is currently on the thorough and precise identification of contact persons as well as additional tests to limit the possible spread of COVID-19.’
