Corrie: Fans go wild for Michelle’s ‘hot’ son Alex

Coronation Street fans have gone wild for Michelle Connor’s ‘hot’ son Alex Neeson, after he made his debut on the soap in Wednesday’s double bill.

Alex, or Ali, arrived on the Street as the new trainee GP, with Liz McDonald stunned to discover he had not spoken to his mum in years.

Viewers rushed to Twitter to comment on the hunky new addition to the ITV soap, who’s now being played by Mount Pleasant star James Burrowes.

Who’s that? Coronation Street fans went wild on Wednesday as Michelle’s ‘hot’ biological son Alex made his debut on the soap, played by James Burrowes

Alex was first seen on screen when Liz went to introduce herself to the new GP at the surgery, only to discover it was Alex.

Having not been seen on the soap in ten years, Alex revealed that he goes by the name of Ali, and that he had severed contact with mum Michelle, to Liz’s surprise.

Viewers were quick to comment on the dishy new addition to the soap, with one tweeting: ‘Michelle’s son Alex oooooh he is fit #Corrie,’ while another wrote: ‘Alex is so good looking.’

A third added: ‘Oh hey there Dr Alex,’ while one fan simply tweeted: ‘Alex’ followed by a slew of love heart and smiling face emojis.

Alex was previously played by Daario Coates during his last appearance on Corrie in 2008, when Michelle discovered her son Ryan – played then by Ben Thompson –  was not biologically hers.

In a hospital mix-up, Michelle found out she had been raising the wrong child for 16 years, and was soon reunited with her biological son Alex.

After moving in Michelle, the good times weren’t to last and soon Alex left Corrie and was never heard from again.

Shocking: Alex was involved in the dramatic baby swap storyline in 2008, which saw him find out Michelle was his biological mother

Meanwhile Ryan – recast as actor Sol Heras – moved to Ibiza to work as a DJ, and has also been rarely heard from since his departure in 2013.

While fans may hope that Alex (or Ali’s) return to the soap will spark a re-connection between him and his mum, that may not be the case.

Spoilers released ahead of Friday’s double bill revealed Michelle will come face to face with her son after heading to the medical centre with a cut hand.

Sadly Michelle will be left heartbroken when Ali refuses to talk to her or build bridges in their relationship, so fans will have to wait and see whether the pair will be able to grow closer again.

It was also revealed earlier this week that Michelle’s son Ryan will be heading back to Corrie as well, when This Morning soap expert Sharon Marshall broke the news, saying: ‘[Alex] was the kid that she had with her late partner Dean, he was switched at birth and she brought up another boy called Ryan as her own.

‘Ryan is also going to be coming back to the show as well.’

It hasn’t been confirmed whether Sol will return to the role, or when viewers will see him on screen.

He's back! It has since been confirmed that Ryan (played above by Sol Heras in 2012) will also be returning to Corrie very soon
