Could Guy Sebastian enter I’m A Celebrity?

He finished in second place to winner Guy Sebastian on the first season of Australian Idol back in 2003.

And Shannon Noll has now revealed he’s keen to reunite with his old singing rival on another TV show, this time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The 42-year-old sparked rumours that Guy could be set to enter the South African jungle, after he quipped that it would be ‘great’ to get his old pal to join him.

I’d hate to be in ‘[the jungle’] with anyone who’s a s**t stirrer. It would be great to be in there with Guy Sebastian though!’ he told OK! Magazine before entering the jungle.

Guy has not yet been announced to star, but several contestants are expected to debut as ‘intruders.’

A Channel TEN spokesman refused to comment on the rumours, but told Daily Mail Australia: ‘There are many more celebrity surprises to come for the campmates, and viewers, over the coming weeks.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted representatives for Guy for comment.

Shannon was controversially beaten by Guy to the first place in Australian Idol, a defeat which Guy later joked was a ‘robbery’.

Meanwhile, his return to the public eye was sparked by a series of internet memes and pages dedicated to him in 2016.

Fans young and old have been religiously commenting on and sharing posts which largely focus around him being ‘robbed’ by Sebastian, along with his hit What About Me and the ‘flavour saver’ facial hair he used to sport.

His cult popularity has grown to the stage where over 12,000 people are set to attend a Facebook event at Sydney Opera House on 19 November, protesting against the result of the talent competition on the 13th anniversary of the decision.

Shannon has now become a fan favourite on I’m A Celebrity, with many viewers praising his singing voice after he treated campmates to an impromptu show.

However, he said entering the South African jungle for a few weeks was nothing special.

‘I’ve done a lot of crazy things growing up – things like crashing cars and motorbikes on the farm,’ he said. ‘This would be the first intentionally crazy thing I’ve done.’
