If you’re feeling the pinch in January after spending your money on presents, a decluttering could be the way to put some money back in your pocket.
You might not think your old books and unwanted video games could be worth very much, but if you have a few key items as well as a mobile phone to get rid off, you could be in line to make hundreds.
Music Magpie, the site gives customers cash for unwanted items such as tech, CDs, DVDs and books, has revealed the items with the highest current trade-in values – and all you need is six crucial pieces to make £500.
Cookbooks and anything health or diet related will net you the highest amount in January, and with Star Wars riding high at the box office if you have a set with the original and prequel trilogies on DVD you can trade it in for £12.56.
Tech naturally has the highest trade in value with an iPhone 8 fetching £465, while even the older iPhone 6 will net you £163.
