The couple are strong advocates for kangaroo meat but after this incident do not feel that the kangaroo meat industry is as regulated as it should be.

‘We are strong advocates for kangaroo meat but clearly the kangaroo meat isn’t nearly as regulated as it should be,’ the woman wrote.

‘We cooked the kangaroo meat well within the use by date and there was one piece left after dinner when we found the maggots.’

The woman’s partner also posted on the Woolworths Facebook page wanting to know they found maggots in their kangaroo meat.

‘I’d love to know why I found these maggots in it???’

‘How is this even possible and we ate the rest of it before.’

Woolworths responded directly to the post stating their concern about the maggot incident.

‘We’re very concerned about this and the meat you’ve bought from us doesn’t live up to our high produce standards,’ a spokesperson wrote.

‘This is something we don’t want on the shelves and we take all incidents like this very seriously.

‘We’d like to raise this for immediate investigation.’
