A man and woman found dead in a rural Scottish AirBnB took their lives after forging a double suicide pact over the internet, a source told MailOnline.
Police found the bodies of a male, 28, and a female, 24, inside the holiday cottage in Rickarton near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, at 1.30pm yesterday.
Detectives are treating the deaths as non-suspicious and are officially continuing to investigate.
But a well-placed source disclosed the pair were strangers who met online and agreed to book the AirBnB to follow through a suicide pact.

Their next of kin have been informed.
Detective Inspector Sam Buchan said: ‘Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man and woman who have sadly died.
‘Officers remain at the property and I would like to thank members of the community for their patience whilst our inquiries continue.’
Police said officers will remain at the property while the investigation continues.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal in due course.
