Couple from Massachusetts win $1M in SEPARATE contests

A couple from Randolph, Massachusetts, have each won a $1 million jackpot in two separate instances.

Robert Goodwin won a $1 million jackpot on Monday after buying a $5 instant ticket for the $1,000,000 Platinum Payout game and his wife, Jane, won $1 million in the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes in August.

The ecstatic couple revealed they were going to purchase a home in a community where they won’t have to deal with snow anymore.

Goowdin says he chose to accept the lump-sum payment which totaled about $650,000.

In the summer his wife said she found out while returning from a ferry trip in Plymouth after spending the day in Provincetown with a friend.

Reporters were standing on the dock waiting for her so they could gift her with the epic check and a bouquet of red roses.

As she was disembarking everyone started screaming and applauding to which she said ‘you are kidding me. Oh my god.’

‘Just got lucky, just got very lucky,’ said Jane Goodwin. ‘We made some gifts, and we paid off all our bills,’ Boston10 reported.

The couple have been tactical with their winnings with Robert only just cashing in his money this week. ‘Definitely because of tax reasons,’ he said.

The couple met while both were employed by Boston Edison.
