Couple takes wedding photos at Niagara Falls

A recently married couple wanted to take romantic photographs in Canada – and not even brutally cold weather would stop them.

Jonathan Czitkovics and his wife, Yvonne Chen, took wedding photos in Niagara Falls, Ontario on January 3.

He was clad in a suit and tie, while she was clad in a sleeveless red dress – despite the outdoor temperature being -6 degrees Celsius (21 degrees Fahrenheit).

The couple were married this summer in Thailand, where they live, but wanted to do some wedding photos in Canada because Jonathan is from Montreal.

And for whatever reason, the couple decided to do so at the coldest time of year.

And in spite of the cold, it appears that the couple was able to pull off the photo shoot themselves using a self timer on the DSLR camera.

The cold snap which has gripped much of Canada and the United States has nearly frozen over the American side of the touristic hotspot.

Unseasonably cold temperatures in eastern North America have plunged the U.S. side of Niagara Falls into a deep freeze that has, in a sense, made them resemble a landscape more suitable for Narnia than the real world.

Mist from the surging waters has been freezing instantly on everything it touches, coating trees, walkways, cliffs and overlooks in a dreamy, brilliant white.

Visitors hardy enough to withstand the bone-chilling cold are treated to snapshots and selfies in a winter wonderland.

Meanwhile, airlines have canceled more than 2,700 flights scheduled for Thursday and extremely hazardous driving conditions are expected throughout the Eastern seaboard late Wednesday and into Thursday thanks to a major winter storm that will bring blizzard conditions from the coastlines of Maine all the way to Virginia in the United States.
