It is expected that a bride and groom have thought about any potential disasters that may happen on their wedding day, but no one could prepare for something like this.
Wedding photographer David Stowe was capturing the beautiful bride and wedding party in Sydney when an angry brush turkey decided to start a fight with a Kookaburra in the middle of the shoot.
‘It all happened right in front of us while I was positioning the bride and groom so everyone saw it,’ the photographer said.

The sun was shining and the party looked magnificent except for the cheeky male brush turkey which had decided to crash the event.
‘I was in the middle of photographing the bridal party when a dominant male brush turkey wandered past.
‘A laughing Kookaburra swooped in aggressively landing right next to him.
‘There was a fraction of a second of stand-off and then bam! The turkey struck out with its massive foot and totally smacked down the Kookaburra.’

‘I was in the middle of photographing the bridal party at yesterday’s wedding, when a dominant male brush turkey wandered past,’ David explained
Using his massive clawed foot the turkey attacked the Kookaburra in a melee of feathers, beaks and talons.
As the shocked bridal party looked on, the turkey then turned tail and ran off leaving the dazed Kookaburra to fly off into a tree.
‘You could tell it felt like a defensive aggressive movement. Straight afterwards the turkey flew off him and ran away,’ David said.
‘The battle only lasted a couple of seconds. The brush turkey certainly asserted his dominance however both flew off swiftly in different directions after the incident.’

David, who is also a wildlife photographer, said that the fight was short, both birds left relatively unharmed and he was still able to capture the perfect day for the happy couple

‘The Kookaburras around here are pretty fearless and will swoop to take food out of your hand if you’re having a picnic.
‘The brush turkeys are also pretty fearless although a lot less aggressive in their desire for food.
‘I have seen sulphur-crested cockatoos and brush turkeys in stand offs before, but never witnessed these two species interact like this.’
