‘Back in the olden times when I did a movie called Masters of the Universe, before Star Trek: Voyager, Courteney Cox was in that movie and we were really good friends,’ he said.

‘And Courteney, even back then she was not as successful as in her Friends days and that, she had bought a house just before that, fixed it up and sold it.

‘And then bought another house, right after Masters – you know, a little ranch house, nothing special, but she loved doing those remodels and renovations.

‘I heard, we’ve lost touch, but I heard that even in those Friends days that she would buy – she loved to flip houses. She loved to remodel, renovate, and then flip it out.’

Courteney landed a starring role as Monica Geller on the hit NBC sitcom, which ran for a decade and was focused on a group of friends living in New York City.

‘The minute she got on Friends, clearly, then she had the capital to really dive into this,’ he said. ‘I mean, if you’re getting paid $1 million dollars per episode, that’s a lot of capital to work with to remodel properties!’

Robert revealed Courteney’s love for a bargain also extended to classic cars as he recalled a trip to the Pomona fairgrounds for a car auction.

‘I mentioned to Courteney, I was like “Hey I’m going to go out to the car auction. I’m curious. Maybe there will be something fun,”‘ he said.

‘She went to the car auction with me and bought a car! She bought a 1960s Mercedes Benz convertible. I remember her saying “I just love this car! If only it had a little bit of polish.” I think she kept that Mercedes for quite a few years.’

Courteney returns to television screens this week with Friends: The Reunion, starring Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.
