Courteney Cox recreates Monica and Ross’ iconic Friends dance ‘Routine’ with her friend Ed Sheeran

Courteney Cox proved she’s still got the moves when she recreated a classic Friends dance with her pal Ed Sheeran.

The 56-year-old actress and the 30-year-old pop superstar joined forces in a playful Instagram video shared Sunday that matched Monica’s choreographed dance with Ross from the sixth season episode The One With The Routine.

‘Just some routine dancing with a friend…’ she captioned the hilarious video while tagging Ed and adding the hashtag, ‘ReRoutine.’

Letting loose: Courteney Cox, 56, and her friend Ed Sheeran, 30, showed off their best dance moves in a hilarious Instagram recreation of a classic Friends dance on Sunday

Courteney was wearing a casual low-cut black short-sleeve top and black jeans with matching sneakers for the clip.

Ed also was dressed in a low-key manner with a brown suede jacket over a plain white T-shirt, light jeans and bright red trainers.

The singer kicked off the dance by comically pointing from Courteney’s eyes to his, before she counted out ‘five, six, seven, eight’ while snapping her fingers.

Just like the original, she mimed slapping her partner before swaying side-to-side in front of him.

Then she crouched down on the ground while Ed leapfrogged over her.

They looked particularly silly as they lifted a leg and grabbed it at the ankle while bouncing up and down and holding their hands on the back of their heads.

The video ended in humorous disaster after Courteney rushed to jump into Ed’s arms, but she overshot the move and flew right past him, landing flat on the grass while also pulling Ed down with her.

The dancers even managed to replicate the vibe of the original dance by playing the audio from the show, which featured the audience laugh track, instead of just the original song, Loreta’s Trouble With Boys.

In The One With The Routine, Monica and Ross had both managed to get into Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve party, but only a select few would get to dance on a platform being broadcast across the US.

In order to show off their talents they shuffled everyone off the dance floor and performed their pre-choreographed routine for the stage manager, who looked impressed.

It was all a joke though, as they had to repeat the dance but it was only recorded for the blooper reel.

Big miss: Sibling Monica and Ross (David Schwimmer) did their dance in hopes of getting on TV at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve celebration, but they only made the blooper reel

Courteney’s friendship goes back years to when the Shape Of You singer helped set her up with her longtime boyfriend Johnny McDaid of the band Snow Patrol.

The two have been together since 2013, and the Friends star seemed to repay Ed a year later when she let him stay in her Malibu beach house for free while writing songs.

‘There was no rent but I made the bed and cups of tea and things like that. If you’re staying at your friend’s house, you should treat it like your own,’ he told The Sun at the time.

‘Well, actually, that’s a lie — because I don’t make my own bed at home,’ he added.
