Covid-19 Melbourne: city rocked by a possible coronavirus outbreak

Melbourne is rocked by a possible Covid outbreak as two people are likely to test positive to the virus in the city’s northern suburbs

Melbourne has been rocked by a possible Covid-19 outbreak as two likely positive cases have been identified in the city’s northern suburbs.

The Victorian Department of Health announced on Monday that two residents who are believed to be known to each other have tested positive to coronavirus.

‘A full investigation is underway into these results, and initial public health actions are being put into place while both individuals isolate and are urgently retested,’ the Department said in a statement.

‘We will communicate and specific public health actions the community needs to undertake as soon as possible when investigations and case interviews are complete.’

More to come.
