Huge changes are coming to Sydney’s lockdown as police are given 48 hours to redraft the public health orders to bring the city’s spirally Covid crisis under control.

Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has been called in to run the response to the Harbour City’s highly infectious Delta outbreak, as frustration grows over the current rules.

The move will give police more power to enforce restrictions, which is currently proving difficult for officers.
