Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones walked away from a rough car crash in May without injury, despite not wearing a seatbelt.

According to police video obtained by TMZ, Jones admitted to multiple officers that he wasn’t wearing a belt when he t-boned a Hyundai in Dallas back on May 4. Jones later told police the belt was buckled, but behind his back and not worn properly.

In the police-blurred clip, one officer said: ‘You had it buckled behind you but you weren’t wearing it.’

‘That is correct,’ Jones replied. ‘That is correct.’

Jones said he was traveling at around 45mph in a 35mph zone at the time of the wreck and that his airbags deployed in his 2013 Lexus sedan.

The Cowboys owner went to the hospital, according to his son, but says he only suffered minor injuries. Jones told police at the hospital that he suffered a, ‘head bump, chest bump (and) knee bump,’ but that he was, ‘not in any pain now.’

Neither driver was seriously injured in the incident, with a relieved Jones saying ‘I’m so happy he’s not hurt.’

Dash cam footage from another driver waiting at a red light captured the moment the crash happened.

The Hyundai appears to miss the left turn it needed to make, slowing down rapidly and taking a long slow turn from what appears to be the middle or right lane of the road.

Jones’ sedan then sees the car moving too late and broadsided the Hyundai.

The Hyundai was lifted off the road and spun sideways nearly 360 degrees and coming to a stop facing oncoming traffic.

The footage then cuts to the parking lot of a Hyatt House hotel located just past the intersection, where Jones can be seen speaking with witnesses and the driver of the silver car.

Both drivers appeared unscathed, though Jones was seen walking with a slight limp and raising his left pant leg to examine himself.

The driver of the silver sedan could be seen placing his hand over his heart, and his head in his hands, though he appears physically unhurt.

In the police video, Jones was heard saying to police, ‘He just U-ed. He just simply U-ed right in front of me.’

Police cleared Jones of any wrongdoing in the case and asked Jones to ‘put that seat belt on the right way.’
