Craig Phillips weds longtime love Laura Sherriff

He shot to fame back in 2000, when he became the first ever winner of the UK version of Big Brother, before going on to forge a career as a TV DIY expert.

And on Friday, Craig Phillips celebrated another big milestone in his life, as he tied the knot with Laura Sherriff, his love of almost two years, in a romantic ceremony on the grounds of Cheshire’s enchanting Peckforton Castle.

The 46-year-old TV personality, who hails from Liverpool, said ‘I do’ in front of 200 of his and Laura’s nearest and dearest during their celebratory occasion.

They do! Craig Phillips tied the knot with his longtime love Laura Sherriff in a romantic ceremony held on the grounds of Peckforton Castle in Cheshire on Friday

Wearing a taupe three-piece suit with burgundy accents, Craig beamed with joy as he exchanged vows with blonde beauty Laura, who was resplendent in a dramatic fishtail white gown, which she teamed with a feathered cape.

Following their dream day, the lovebirds plan to jet off to enjoy a snowboarding break in Colorado before heading back to continue work on their unique dream property build in Prescot, Liverpool.

Craig, who famously gave away his £70,000 Big Brother winnings to help a family friend Joanne Harris pay for much needed medical treatment, decided to make charity support a big part of their day as they tied the knot.

In lieu of wedding gifts, the couple have requested that the wedding party donate to Helen and Douglas House.

Close to the couple’s heart, Helen and Douglas House hospice provided care to Laura’s brother Daniel, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour shortly after birth and supported the family through what was a very difficult time.

‘He battled with the disease for three years and towards the end of his short life, he was in a lot of pain but there was nothing more the doctors could do for him,’ Craig told the Oxford Mail ahead of the wedding.

‘Within 10 minutes of his arrival the hospice had done what the local doctors couldn’t, they gave Daniel a place to find comfort and gave Laura’s family the chance make the most of the time they had left with their son.’

Along with guest donations, Laura will also be auctioning her wedding gown to raise funds for the cause.

Ever the romantic, Craig proposed to Laura last year as the couple climbed Harbour Bridge during a trip to Sydney, Australia.

As well as the dream build project, the couple are working towards the launch of their latest project, Mr and Mrs DIY.

With a shared passion for DIY, this latest project aims to make DIY more accessible to all. Using social media platforms and through a bespoke website, the couple will share their tips and hacks on a whole range of household and garden jobs.

Hoping to encourage more women to pick up tools, Laura will feature in many of the videos, demonstrating that DIY isn’t just a job for men.
