Crane collapses on Austin construction workers

Terrifying video footage shows the moment a crane collapsed in Austin sending construction workers fleeing for their lives on Wednesday morning.

Construction workers were standing underneath the crane as it lifted a concrete wall.

The video shows the moment the wire snaps, causing the concrete slab to come tumbling down.

Nearly a dozen construction workers were lucky to escape with their lives after a massive crane collapsed in Austin, Texas

The crane was trying to lift a concrete wall when the wire snapped and it came toppling over

A worker who was standing on it was knocked off and trapped as the wall and crane fell to the ground.

‘A crane did overturn this morning on the project site in question. No injuries were reported except one worker slightly injuring his foot when exiting the crane cab,’  said Justin Deming Raymond Construct Company to KXAN. 

The company is still investigating to determine the cause of the collapse.

One man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and another refused transport, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
