The injured boy was treated with an ice-pack at the ground and an ambulance was called to North Sydney Oval, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Witnesses said he was hit in the forehead when the ball bounced off a wooden chair after clearing the fence.
Brad McGuiness was watching the game near where the boy was sitting on the grass, News.com.au reported.
‘He started screaming,’ McGuiness said.

‘He had glasses on, I think it hit him just below the glasses.
‘It was a solid hit.. it hit the chair and instead of taking the heat off it went quicker.’
The boy remained conscious despite the blow, and during the innings break Perry returned once more to check on his welfare, giving him her hat.
The incident happened in the final overs of the Sixers innings, in which Perry made 91 off 49 balls to help her team a WBBL record score of 242.

Cricket Australia said an update on the boy’s condition would be provided after he is properly assessed.
The game was the first of the Women’s Big Bash League season, and Perry’s Sixers – the 2016/17 champions – are hoping to retain their title.
Perry, 27, has represented Australia in both cricket and soccer, and has captained the Sydney Sixers as an all-rounder since the WBBL’s inaugural season.
