Police have established a crime scene after a man was found unresponsive in a burning house.
Emergency services were called to Grant Street in Blacktown, Sydney, after receiving reports of a fire at 4.05pm on Saturday.
The unidentified man, whose age remains unknown, was recovered from the premises by Fire and Rescue NSW crews.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to revive the man but he died at the scene.
Officers attached Blacktown Police Area Command attended and the fire has since been extinguished.
Multiple police cars and firetrucks were seen assembled on the street outside the house as grieving loved ones spoke to officers.
A crime scene has been established and police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding how the incident occurred.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
