  • Ronaldo was joined in the ultimate dream side by four other Real Madrid stars
  • Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos were all named in the team
  • Gianluigi Buffon, who won FIFA Best Goalkeeper, was given the nod in the sticks

Real Madrid’s fleet of stars dominated the FIFPro XI for the second year running as five of their players slotted into the line-up at the high-profile gala in London.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who is tipped to see off competition from Lionel Messi and Neymar to retain the Men’s Best Player Award, was an obvious choice in the XI.

He was joined by team-mates Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, who coincidentally were all named in the 2016 best team.

Barcelona ace Messi, as expected, took his place in the three-man attack alongside Ronaldo and Neymar. 

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who was voted FIFA best goalkeeper, took his spot in between the sticks of this ultimate dream team.

In front of him were defenders Dani Alves, Marcelo, Ramos, Leonardo Bonucci. 

The midfield three were made up entirely of La Liga players with Modric, Kroos and Andres Iniesta completing best side on the planet, which was voted by their fellow professionals.
