Piers Morgan has again slammed Erik ten Hag and Manchester United’s decision to get rid of Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portugal star scored a hat-trick for Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo scored three and assisted one of Sadio Mane’s two goals as Al-Nassr thumped Al-Fateh 5-0 to claim their first win of the Saudi Pro League season.

The result leaves them 10th with a win and two losses but they are into the Asian Champions League and recently won the Arab Club Champions Cup after two late Ronaldo goals.

Morgan has regularly criticised Ten Hag for letting Ronaldo leave the club and hit out at the United boss again following the Portuguesestar’s performance on Friday.

Morgan tweeted: ‘As @Cristiano scores 3 goals & provides a brilliant assist for Mane, whilst looking fitter & hungrier than ever, a reminder that Erik ‘I’m a genius, just ask me’ Ten Hag deemed him surplus to requirements for a Manchester United team which can’t hit a barn door.’

And Piers Morgan hit out at Man United and Erik ten Hag for getting rid of him in November

Manchester United have endured a slow start to the Premier League season with just one goal from their opening two fixtures – a shaky 1-0 win over Wolves at Old Trafford and a 2-0 loss away at Spurs.

Ten Hag criticised his own forwards after a toothless performance in London, which saw Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, and Antony squander chances.

‘You have seen today, the performance first half (was) very good, but you have to understand you have to score a goal,’ he insisted.

‘Because of the meaning of the first goal, players have to take responsibility. Focus, passion and desire in this moment to keep the overview and score the first goal.

‘It’s about belief and we believe these players because of last year as well. They can score goals.

‘But it is obvious why we signed a striker. If everything goes well, (Anthony) Martial is on (his) way back, Hojlund is coming, so we have more players capable to score a goal, but also the players on the pitch, they can score goals.’

Hojlund, who joined from Atalanta in a deal that could rise to £72million, is currently absent with a back injury and missed the Spurs clash.

Ronaldo left the Red Devils by mutual consent last November after he hit out at the club in an explosive interview with Morgan.
