  • He joined the Saudi Pro League last year after an acrimonious Man United exit

Cristiano Ronaldo has appeared in a promotional video for Tyson Fury’s upcoming bout with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

The 38-year-old has continued to attract attention even after completing what looked to be a career-ending move to the Saudi Pro League last year.

But since arriving in Riyadh Ronaldo has been joined by an array of former European greats and is now the jewel in a star-studded footballing crown, in a country determined to bring the biggest stars to compete on its shores.

As a result, it’s little surprise to see the former Manchester United striker featuring in a new promo for the hotly anticipated clash between Fury and Ngannou later this month.

Ronaldo can be seen fielding questions when one reporter asks for his opinion on Ngannou’s chances against Fury.

‘Next question,’ is his response. Most combat fans are likely to reply in the same fashion if asked about the 37-year-old’s odds in his maiden boxing fight against a current heavyweight champion.

Still, as a former UFC champions himself Ngannou will fancy his chances of causing an upset and scuppering Fury’s preparations for the long-awaited clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

The bout that will put all four heavyweight belts on the line and could crown a unified champion of the division for the first time in 23 years, will also take place in the Gulf State.

No date has been confirmed but a December 23rd meeting or a January clash have been discussed. Fury has been reported to be pocketing a mammoth £164.5million ($200m) purse from the two contests.
