Cristiano Ronaldo set to return to Man United squad for Tottenham clash

Cristiano Ronaldo set to return to Man United squad for Tottenham clash, says boss Ralf Rangnick, after Portuguese star missed last Sunday’s derby defeat with hip injury… with Edinson Cavani also fit again too

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Manchester United training with Ralf Rangnick saying the Portuguese star will be available for Saturday home meeting with Tottenham.

Ronaldo missed last Sunday’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City after suffering a hip injury but has been working hard this week to return to full fitness.

Rangnick, speaking in his Friday press conference, said Ronaldo was likely to return to his squad and insisted he had no issues with the player returning to Portugal last weekend.

Fellow forward Edinson Cavani is also fit again ahead of Tottenham’s visit.

The interim boss said: ‘He resumed training yesterday and I expect him to be in training today. He trained well, so I would have thought he will be available tomorrow.

‘There are no issues with him, I haven’t asked him if he’s happy. For me, it’s important that he’s fit and training.’
