People commenting on the post were furious over the idea of the dogs being dumped in the park.

‘I hope you can identify the car and have them fined for dumping them. Poor babies,’ one person said.

‘Looks like cavaliers probably, stolen or lost,’ another person said.

‘Maybe they are the owners and dumped them, I would report as that’s illegal,’ another said.

‘Hoping someone in the area can pick them up and check for a collar or ID,’ a fourth added.

The RSPCA runs a lost and found animal service where people can report animals they have found or that have gone missing.

Local councils also have a lost and found animal service and can be called to collect wandering pets. Most dogs are microchipped with the owner’s details.
