Around 30 passengers were on board when the last of the 10-car train struck the debris, angering commuters.
‘What are you gonna do? I guess I gotta get the bus? I’m a little upset, but I guess that’s what New Yorkers have to go through,’ said Staten Island resident Gary Wise, according to the New York Post.
Stella, a Bay Ridge resident who declined to give her last name, said ‘there is no R train. No signs, nothing. I can’t tell where the shuttle is,’ she said.

‘It’s not the first time. I’m going to Manhattan. I don’t know how I’m going to get there.’
MTA spokesman Jon Weinstein in a statement that the incident was caused by ‘debris from a wall becoming wedged between the rail and wheels’ of the train.
‘We expect to have full R service up and running later this morning.’
