Curvy model was once told her frame was at risk of failing on why ‘thinner doesn’t mean happier’

A curvy model has revealed a transformation photo of a different kind to her Instagram followers.

Annaliese Gann, 22, from Sydney, explained how although five years ago she was the skinniest she’s ever been at a size 6, she was also at her unhappiest.

‘I was miserable, always cold, lifeless and struggled to get through the day. I survived on salads and black coffee. This girl didn’t understand balance,’ she wrote in a post online.

‘I was at the most unhealthy moment in my life. I went to see a doctor and she told me if I didn’t put on weight now my internal system may start failing.’

Annaliese said that moment turned her life around forever and is what started her journey to recovery.

‘I [now] work out because I love my body, not hate it. I embrace my bigger frame for what it is. I now understand BALANCE and I’m happier being myself,’ she said.

‘A reminder that YOUR natural state is different to everyone else’s so try not compare yourself to others.

‘You don’t have to look like the people in the magazines to be happy, just be yourself and embrace this beautiful life.’

In 2013 the blonde beauty was an aspiring runway model who was ‘spiralling downhill’.

‘Not being naturally thin, all I focused on was diet, exercise and how thin I could become,’ she wrote in another post.

‘I wasn’t happy as I wasn’t living life as my true self… 5 YEARS LATER HERE I AM at my natural size.

‘I am truly myself, the HEALTHIEST and HAPPIEST I’ve ever been. I’ve learnt that we are all unique and amazing in our own way and that we don’t need to change for society!’
