Cyclist gets into road rage stand off with Big Bus Tours driver

This is the shocking moment a cyclist gets into a road rage stand-off with a Big Bus driver who rammed him off the street.

The rider was using a blue cycle lane near Clapham North station in south London, when the bus driver was seen moving alongside.

As the bus pulled in nearer, the cyclist almost fell from his bike and started to bang on the motorist’s window in frustration at being pushed off onto the street.

This is the shocking moment a cyclist is rammed off the road by a Big Bus driver – who then brazenly blames him

‘What the f*** are you doing’, the cyclist yelled towards the bus driver, who calmly replied: ‘I’m driving along the road.’

But when the cyclist pointed out that he was riding in the ‘cycle lane’, the encounter quickly became heated, with the driver shouting: ‘It’s not a f****** cycle lane.’

The cyclist then directed the bus driver to look at the blue marks on the road but the driver tells him to ‘f*** off’ before the pair part ways.

Social media users were quick to react to the footage, with one writing: ‘Absolutely disgraceful driving’.

Yet another social media user said: ‘Just to be clear I am 100 per cent on the cyclist’s side here and the driver was 100 per cent in the wrong – but technically that isn’t a cycle lane.

‘The blue paint has no legal relevance at all, a cycle lane needs either a solid or dashed line.

There are three type of cycle lanes. Mandatory which is bordered with a solid unbroken line which motorists should not enter.

The second being advisory cycle lanes which are bordered with broken lines and should only be entered by drivers if safe to do so, Transport for London say.

While the third type, being blue surfacing, is there to offer guidance to cyclists and raise awareness to drivers that those riding are likely to be near.

The video was published on YouTube and has received over 8,000 views.

The MailOnline has contacted Big Bus for comment.
