Dramatic footage has emerged of the moment a cyclist was thrown from his bike after colliding with an Audi.

The man was riding through a Melbourne car park when he was hit by the vehicle and sent flying through the air.

In vision uploaded to the Cycliq Facebook page, the cyclist can be seen clearing a speed hump just before the Audi makes a right-hand turn and collides with the rider.

The cyclist was flipped upside down and landed heavily following the incident, with his bike bouncing away from him.

A caption accompanying the post said: ‘Mike from Melbourne, Australia shared this crash of his mate Nick. In his words: “Car pulls out right into my mate and sends him in the air. Bike is heavily damaged. My friend suffered minor injuries”.’

Those who commented on the post said while they thought the driver was in the wrong, the cyclist should have done more to prevent the collision.

‘Car definitely in the wrong….. But seriously cyclist should have had more sense then to be riding that quick through a busy car park,’ one wrote.

Another added: ‘Certainly dumb move by the driver, but equally dumb move by the cyclist. Most drivers wouldn’t be expecting to see a cyclist at that speed in an undercover car park.

‘Cyclist should accept some responsibility and ride according to the conditions… reduced visibility, congested roads = slow down!,’ they said.
