Dashcam footage has captured the moment a brazen cyclist negligently runs a red light directly in the line of sight of a police officer who immediately pulls him over.
The recording, filmed on September 6, shows an officer on a motorbike wearing a yellow helmet and police uniform sitting at traffic lights in Auckland.
In the one minute long clip a cyclist can be seen making his way up the left on the vision in a cycling lane.

The cyclist, who is wearing a helmet and a backpack, approaches the red light he continues to ease into the turn, without stopping for the signal.
The nearby cop watches as the pedal-pusher makes his turn before turning on his flashing lights.
He quickly begins a hot pursuit of the law-breaking rider who is eventually pulled over out of the camera’s view.
The owner of the footage said: ‘I watched the cyclist nonchalantly cycle right through the red light.
‘The policeman did a double-take, checked the traffic and activated his lights before pursuing the cyclist through the red lights.’
