A dad has become a viral sensation after he hilariously announced he was leaving his family group chat, stating that he ‘couldn’t live with the pressure’ of having to reply to everyone’s ‘random thoughts, pictures, and amusements.’
Allison D’Orazio, 23, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, shared a screenshot of her dad, Thomas D’Orazio’s wholesome exit from the chat to Twitter, and it sparked an outpour of praise from millions who admitted that they too feel the same way about group messages.
‘I can’t keep up with the pressure of always having to lol or like or heart everyone’s random thoughts, pics and amusements,’ he stated.
‘For all future texts: I love them, laugh at them, or like them, unless it’s bad, then I dislike them. In perpetuity. I can’t live with this pressure. I’m out.’

‘My dad seriously sent this to our family group chat, I’m crying,’ Allison captioned the tweet, which has now been retweeted more than 40,000 times and liked more than 422,000 times.
Many people quickly hailed Thomas, who works as an ophthalmologist, as ‘so real’ and relatable for his declaration, with some claiming that they also hate the demand that being part of a chain full of people can entail.
‘Literally me,’ wrote one person, while another added, ‘My kind of person,’ with a heart.
‘Me in any group chat ever,’ said someone else. A fourth tweet read, ‘Same, f**k group chats.’

Allison told Good Morning America that the group chat is made up of herself, her father, her mom, Amy, and her 19-year-old younger sister, Alexa.
As for what prompted his now-viral message, she explained that the women were sending each other various links that they ‘found funny,’ as well as pictures of what they were doing.
‘We were sending a bunch of article links to stuff we found funny,’ she told the publication.
‘And that day I was working on a sewing project and I was sending pictures of my stitches because I was just learning how to sew and I was excited about them.’
She added that her dad ‘loves to engage and interact’ with their messages, so he ‘felt pressure to like every single thing’ that they had sent – which is hard with his busy schedule as a doctor.

And despite stating that he was ‘out’ at the time, she said that Thomas (seen in a throwback picture with his daughters) ultimately decided to stay in the family group chat
‘He basically doesn’t [look at his phone] until his lunch break and then [he doesn’t again] until the end of the day, so when he reads his phone after appointments, there has to be so many text messages,’ she revealed.
‘He probably thinks there is a fire or something when it’s just our random stuff.’
And despite stating that he was ‘out’ at the time, she said that Thomas ultimately decided to stay in the family group chat.
‘He’s introverted but loves us,’ she added. ‘He would be happy if we were his only friends and his whole life. I knew he was joking.’
And now, he’s certainly enjoying his newfound fame and internet attention, with Allison concluding, ‘He was like, “Oh great, now people are going to expect me to be funny all the time.” And he said, “Now that’s an LOL.”‘
