Dad pleads for wife to return with their missing two-year-old daughter

A Miami father is begging his wife to bring back their two-year-old daughter who has been missing for five days, saying that the mother is mentally unstable and has a history of running away.

Police in Miami say Rusell Alada, 27, took off with her daughter, Isabella, last Wednesday, and no one has seen or heard from them since.

The toddler was last sighted leaving her family’s home at the Milagro Coral Gables apartment building in the area of Southwest 22nd Street and 37th Avenue.

Alada’s husband, Aaron Lester, told WSVN his wife has been diagnosed with an unspecified mental illness, and that she left their home without any diapers, a toothbrush or a change of clothes for Isabella.

‘I’m sure that [Isabella] could be happier. I’m sure that she’s terrified,’ he said. ‘I’m sure that she wants to be back in her bed and back in school.’

Lester told Local10 his wife and daughter vanished just hours after he and Alada had a tense marriage counseling session.

According to the husband, their therapist said some things that ran counter to his wife’s point of view, and that on the ride home she was uncommonly quiet.

Some time later, while her husband was not home, Alada packed a small suitcase, but he says she failed to take her medication or additional clothing.

Lester also revealed that during her pregnancy, Alada went missing in her native country, the Philippines. She was found days later living in a 24-hour McDonald’s.

The husband and father fears for the safety of his wife and daughter, and says he just wants them to come home.

The missing child stands at 3 feet in height, weighs about 30lbs and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue dress, pink shorts and a yellow hair bow.

Anyone with information on Isabella’s whereabouts is being asked to call Miami Police at 305-603-6300.
