Dad-to-be is slammed for IGNORING the mother of his child during their gender reveal

A young father-to-be is facing the enormous backlash for completely ignoring the mother of his child after their gender reveal — and running to celebrate with his baseball teammates instead.

Hannah Calverley, 18, shared the video of the baseball-themed gender reveal on TikTok, showing the moment her boyfriend, University of New Orleans sophomore Travis Gober, 19, smashed a baseball that exploded in blue powder.

But instead of reveling in the moment with his pregnant girlfriend — who is literally carrying the baby boy he is so excited about — Gober didn’t even spare her a glance, turning directly to his friends.

Worse still, as the young men rushed in to cheer for their teemmate, they managed to push Calverley out of the way entirely.

In the viral TikTok video, Gober hits a baseball with a bad, turning it into a cloud of blue.

Calverley clasps her hands to her mouth and runs toward Gober, but he already has his attention turned away from her, having eyes only for his friends.

As she gets closer, he moves directly into his friends arms, and they surround him in a circle, jumping and cheering.

The oblivious teammates are so intent on Gober that they even push Calverley out of the way with their bodies, not even noticing the pregnant mom as she’s excluded from her own gender reveal.

Gober also seems thrilled to celebrate with his friends, smiling and jumping up and down — and showing no concern for finding the mother of his child.

The end of the clip shows the teammates letting up, and Calverley begins to inch closer to Gober — but he is still paying her no attention, hugging several friends.

The video has quickly gone viral, earning more than 21.2 million views in under a week.

‘Um no what about the mother of the child,’ wrote one commenter.

‘He could’ve ignored them tho for a second,’ wrote another, while a third said, ‘I would have been extremely upset.’

‘I’m happy for you but momma he straight up looked at them first he had no intentions cheering with you first,’ another commenter said.

‘Should be a moment between the ma and dad first before “the boys,”‘ yet another chimed in, while one more said: ‘Poor baby girl. My hear because so sad when they pushed you out of the way.’

‘You deserved better than this,’ another said plainly.

In a followup video, the mother-to-be insisted she was fine with what happened and defended Gober.

‘I promise I’m not upset, I’m OK,’ she said. ‘I was literally laughing, like, about how funny it was that everyone was jumping on him.

‘Yes, he should have run and hugged me,’ she admittted, ‘and he knows that and he feels terrible but it is not a red flag at all.

‘He’s the best boyfriend in the whole world. And he’s going to be the best dad, so it’s OK. Y’all can leave her alone.’

Speaking to Today, Calverley insisted she didn’t even realize he had did anything wrong until the social media backlash began.

‘I didn’t think anything bad about it until I started reading the comments,’ she said. ‘What people didn’t see was how he came over and gave me a huge hug and a kiss right after. We were so overjoyed and excited.’

She also noted that the gender reveal was only with his teammates to begin with, because their families live seven hours away.

'I don't think people should judge our relationship based off of a 15-second video,' she said

‘I also knew going into it that Travis would get tons of attention since we did decide to do the reveal with just his team,’ she added to the Daily Dot. ‘The team made sure to give me lots of love as well and there was never a second that I was sad about anything that happened.’

Calverley took the opportunity to heap praise on her partner to several outlets, saying he is a good boyfriend who cooks for her every night and ‘hardly ever goes out’ — and she is sure he will be the ‘best dad.’

‘I don’t think people should judge our relationship based off of a 15-second video because in reality he was just so overwhelmed and excited with his team cheering him on,’ she told Newsweek.

‘He is definitely the most caring guy and I know he is going to be an amazing father.’

She is due in October.
