Daisy Ridley and Tom Bateman are dating

Daisy Ridley and Tom Bateman are dating, having fallen for one another on the set of new movie Murder On The Orient Express.

The 25-year-old actress and the handsome star, 28, reportedly hit it off while filming their respective roles as Mary Debenham and Bouc on the Kenneth Branagh-helmed adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic.

And although they had wanted to keep things quiet, a producer let the news slip at the red carpet premiere of the movie at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Thursday evening.

According to the Daily Mirror, Judy Hofflund let slip: ‘Something kinda happened with Tom and Daisy… but that’s public news, right?’

She was then quick to add: ‘I should keep my mouth shut.’

When later pushed on whether the rumour was true, Tom skirted around the question and claimed the producers just like to ‘create a buzz’ sometimes.

Daisy – who previously dated Charlie Hamblett – refused to comment last month when she was asked by press whether she had a man on the scene.

She coyly replied at the time: ‘I’m not saying.’

At Thursday evening’s premiere, the pair kept away from one another – posing for photos with most of the other cast members and then staying a hair’s breadth between each other when they assembled for a full cast photo alongside co-stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Lucy Boynton, Josh Gad, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Kenneth Branagh, Michelle Pfeiffer, Willem Dafoe, Derek Jacobi, Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz.

However, she once revealed that the late Carrie Fisher – who passed away two days after Christmas last year and was her co-star in the new Star Wars movies – gave her some dating advice by telling her stardom would impact her search for love and that her personal life would be complicated.

Carrie – who played the role of Princess Leia in the sci-fi franchise – told her before her passing: ‘It’s hard to date once you’re a Star Wars star because you don’t want to give people the ability to say, “I had sex with Princess Leia”.’

Daisy then responded: ‘Someone asked me if I found it easier to date now because I’m in the film. I was like, “What the hell?”‘

Murder On The Orient Express is in cinemas now nationwide.
