The Dallas Cowboys are expected to be without one of their best players for the start of training camp in CeeDee Lamb.
Lamb will not be on the field in Oxnard, California after not getting a lucrative contract extension thus far in the offseason.
The Cowboys top wide receiver is entering the last year of his deal that will pay him just under $18million.
Lamb led the NFC with 1,749 receiving yards last season, only 50 shy of league-leader Tyreek Hill.
The former Oklahoma Sooner also boat-raced the rest of the NFL with 135 receptions, 16 ahead of Hill and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who were tied for second.
Lamb is expected to hold out of Cowboys training camp while he hopes for a new contract
The news of Lamb’s holdout only compounds the issues for the Cowboys, as the pressure to win does not relent.
Star quarterback Dak Prescott is in the final year of his contract, with him expecting to demand up to $70million per year with his new deal, per Heavy.com.
All of that money for never taking the Cowboys beyond the Divisional round of the playoffs.
Lamb was part of the deep wide receiver draft of 2020, alongside Justin Jefferson and Brandon Aiyuk.
All three receivers have been vocal about wanting huge pay-raises this offseason, with only Jefferson receiving one of the trio.
Aiyuk reportedly asked for a trade last week, but is expected to be at training camp with the San Francisco 49ers.
The Cowboys went 12-5 last season but were blown out in the Wild Card round by the Green Bay Packers.
