Dami Im divulges whether she’ll return to compete in Eurovision 2022 – as Turin, Italy is announced as host city


Dami Im has revealed whether or not she will return to Eurovision in 2022.

The Korean-born Australian singer competed as a guest in Eurovision: Australia Decides 2020 and famously represented the country at Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden.

‘I still would love to come back at some point,’ the 32-year-old told TV Tonight about next year’s competition.

‘I’m just not sure if next year is going to be the one for me,’ she said. ‘I still follow it closely. I love the community.’ 

The performing artist touched on her love for Eurovision and the supportive environment.    

‘As you know they’re very passionate and they’re super supportive. It’s just a lot of fun being in that world,’ she added.

Turin, Italy was recently announced as the location for next year’s Eurovision.

SBS will host the program Eurovision – Australia Decides to decide who will represent the country in the international songwriting competition.

Dami competed in Eurovision Song Contest 2016 and performed the song ‘Sound of Silence’ at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. 

She placed second in the competition and achieved the highest Song Contest score for Australia.

She later appeared in Eurovision – Australia Decides 2020, which was ultimately cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. 

Dami is currently working on her new album and latest single, Pray.

She will also compete in the latest season of Celebrity Masterchef amongst the likes of Ian Thorpe, Chrissie Swan, Rebecca Gibney, Tilly Ramsey and Nick Riewoldt.
