Dana White warns Barstool could be damaged by ‘f****** corporate guys who don’t know jack s***’

UFC chief Dana White has predicted Barstool Sports will lose its authenticity in the wake of Penn Entertainment’s purchase of the company. 

Barstool, started by Dave Portnoy, was acquired by the gaming conglomerate earlier this year and has already displayed a more corporate image to that of the wildly successful Portnoy-operated Barstool. 

‘Once you start to get suits involved in your business and these f****** corporate guys who think know what they’re f****** doing… and most of them don’t know jack s***,’ White told The Pat McAfee Show Wednesday. 

‘You’re gonna see it with Barstool over the next couple of years too. They came in and they bought it out, they bought Portnoy out.’

Penn executed a full purchase of Barstool in February, in total they spent $551million for the popular sports and cultural content machine.

Portnoy remains part of the Barstool brand but did reveal on The Kirk Minihane Show his contract is up in 20 months. 

‘Who knows where I’ll be in 3-4 years,’ Portnoy said. ‘There’s been some talk about [a new deal]. Like you said, who knows what they’re thinking at this point.’

White was quizzed about rumors of a feud with Barstool at a Power Slap press conference Wednesday. 

‘No, that’s not true,’ he responded. ‘Listen, what I said today on Pat McAfee was not about Barstool Sports it was about Penn Gaming.

The 46-year-old is unsure what’s next in store for him if he does part ways with Barstool Sports

‘Basically what I’m saying is, when you build a company like Barstool Sports, the way that it was built with a guy like Dave Portnoy, once you get a bunch of suits involved… it just changes the dynamic of the whole thing. Ask Vice how that went.’

Earlier this month, the Barstool founder claimed he did everything in his power to try to retain former employee, Ben Mintz.

The fan favorite was fired for reading aloud rap lyrics which included the N-word on a live stream. 

At the time, Portnoy expressed concern Mintz’s dismissal was a ‘death blow’ for the company after Penn’s stock price subsequently dwindled as a result of backlash.
