Sean Spicer has been announced as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, two years after he reportedly turned down an offer, but host Tom Bergeron hinted that his participation may not be welcome.
The former White House Press Secretary appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday as the full line-up was announced, but Bergeron later said that he told producers he didn’t want bookings with ‘ANY party affiliation’.
Bergeron didn’t let Spicer forget his time on President Trump’s team as he sat in the firing line for questions.
After American Idol runner up Lauren Alaina admitted having an initial moment where she thought actress Kate Flannery’s face was familiar but couldn’t quite place it, presenter, Ginger Zee, joked: ‘I had that same moment with Sean Spicer.’

Spicer hit back, laughing: ‘You need a life. You need to get out more.’
The laughter from the audience prompted Bergeron to join in poking fun. He said: ‘The nice thing is Sean will be in charge of assessing audience size.’
Spicer resigned from his Press Secretary role in July 2017 but has not been seen in public much since.
A memorable moment from his time in the White House was Spicer’s insistence that Trump’s inauguration crowd size was larger than President Obama’s, despite widespread agreement that it was not.
‘This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period,’ Spicer claimed.
Despite Bergeron’s apparent opposition, Spicer comes to DWTS, after in August two years ago, following his resignation, TMZ reported he had rejected an offer for the ABC show because he was too busy.

But Harvey Levin predicted, ‘Sean Spicer is coming to Hollywood, I’m telling you.’
As the 28th season – which premieres September 16 – was announced, Spicer explained that while his mother-in-law possesses some good skills when it comes to dancing, he sadly does not.
Spice shared: ‘I was kicked out of band in sixth grade and the quote was, “You have the sense of beat of a steamroller”,’ Spicer recalled.
He added that his winning strategy will be to ‘work really, really, really hard every day’.
Spicer had emerged onto the GMA stage with a podium when the lineup was announced, including the likes of Christie Brinkley, Lamar Odom, Hannah Brown, Karamo Brown, James Van Der Beek, Kel Mitchell, Ally Brooke, Ray Lewis and Mary Wilson.
Fans won’t find out who he is dancing with however, until the show premieres.
Returning this season is Australian Latin dancer Peta Murgatroyd. The other professional dancers in the cast this season are Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong, Cheryl Burke, Emma Slater, Gleb Savchenko, Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy, Keo Motsepe, Lindsay Arnold, Sasha Farber, Val Chmerkovskiy and Witney Carson, as well as newbies Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov.
Spicer reportedly turned down a role on the show in August 2017, it was previously reported
