Dancing With The Stars: Tyra Banks rolls with wrong video package and cut microphone on live show

Tyra Banks dealt with production issues on Monday’s live episode of Dancing With The Stars during Queen Night on the ABC show.

The 47-year-old host and executive producer introduced the wrong video package and also lost her audio during the season 30 episode.

Tyra, who joined the franchise in 2020, introduced the Jive relay dance video package after all the couples had performed once.

‘Hi, couples. You will be dancing a Foxtrot, which you’ve all done before to Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie,’ head judge Len Goodman, 77, said in a video as he contradicted Tyra before revealing the random dance order.

The video package continued with JoJo Siwa, Jimmie Allen and Olivia Jade discussing their upcoming Foxtrot.

‘All right, so, the crazy thing about live TV is that mistakes happen. That was the wrong package. That’s all right, we’re all human. We’re about to roll the right package. Let’s do it right now,’ Tyra told viewers.

Len was then shown in the correct video package telling Iman Shumpert, Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin and Cody Rigsby that they would be performing in the Jive relay dance.

The couples then danced the Jive one after another in a bid to earn extra points from the judges.

‘All righty, all righty, all righty. That was hot. The jive relay. We had the wrong package, but we are on target now,’ Tyra told the audience.

The show went to a commercial break after the Foxtrot relay dance, which Olivia swept and scored four bonus points, but Tyra had no audio when the show resumed as she spoke in the ballroom.

The studio audience could be heard clapping, but not Tyra who was introducing the next video package for the Viennese waltz relay dance with her mic cut off.

Tyra did not acknowledge the audio difficulty during the broadcast.

Social media was quick to react to the production issues with schadenfreude running rampant on Twitter.
