Daniel Dubois appears to make embarrassing Instagram blunder after tense press conference with Anthony Joshua ahead of Wembley showdown

  • Daniel Dubois insisted he is ‘ready’ to take on Anthony Joshua on Saturday
  • The British fighter believes he can play on his opponent’s weaknesses to win
  • The pair will square off for the IBF title in front of a record crowd at Wembley

Daniel Dubois appeared to make an embarrassing blunder on his Instagram account on Thursday evening ahead of his Wembley showdown with Anthony Joshua.

The pair are due to clash in front of a record crowd of approximately 96,000 people in London on Saturday with Joshua set to challenge his compatriot for his interim IBF heavyweight title.

It’s already been a busy fight week for the pair and tensions appeared to be rising on Thursday evening, with Dubois warning Joshua he is ready to capitalise on the 34-year-old’s weaknesses by ‘making him uncomfortable’ in the ring.

‘I need to take him back to that dark place and make him uncomfortable in there, make him break down in the ring. That’s what I plan to do. He’s right for the taking now,’ Dubois said.

During the press conference, the 27-year-old slammed a table with his hands in frustration after the pair spoke on a sparring session they had several years ago where he had rocked Joshua.

‘It was sparring, now we’re fighting, this is different,’ Joshua had said. Dubois responded saying: ‘Move on,’ before slapping his hand on the table.

After the interviews concluded, Dubois published several pictures of himself during the presser on his Instagram account and was pictured sitting down to field questions before squaring off against his opponent.

In the caption for the post, Dubois appeared to have forgotten to delete a message that had accompanied the text, which has now been deleted.

The caption read: ‘Here’s a strong and engaging captain for the final press conference post: The final press conference is done – the talking stops here. Now it’s time to let the fists do the talking. I’m ready for this fight. Let’s go.’

Dubois also added a boxing glove emoji and an explosion emoji to the caption.

The British fighter comes into Saturday’s bout having won his last two fights against Filip Hrgovic and Jarrell Miller. He boasts a record of 21-2-0, having only lost to Oleksandr Usyk in 2023 and Joe Joyce back in 2020.

But Dubois is hungry to extend his current winning streak with a victory against Joshua, insisting that he is rearing to fight on Saturday.

‘I want to make a name for myself and create history,’ Dubois declared. ‘I’ve always known that [I’m good enough].

After the fight, Dubois posted several pictures on Instagram with a caption that read: 'Now it's time to let the fists do the talking. I'm ready for this fight'
