Daniel Radcliffe transformed into Weird Al Yankovic in the first teaser trailer for Roku Original’s upcoming biopic about the life of the satirical musician.
On Tuesday, the streaming platform released a minute-long clip in which the 32-year-old actor was seen playing Weird Al’s trademark accordion and spitting out whiskey while going shirtless on stage as he embodied the hitmaker.
‘Hope you guys are ready for this,’ Daniel told a crowd of screaming fans as the trailer opened.

The British performer donned a curly brown wig, mustache, glasses and one of Weird Al’s trademark Hawaiian t-shirts.

The trailer concluded as Daniel, who wore an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt, stood at the door of a mansion while Madonna (Evan Rachel Wood) walked by behind him.
‘What can I say? I’m full of surprises,’ he said as he shut the door with a slam.

Per Variety, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story was produced by Funny or Die and Tango. Weird Al himself co-wrote the script along with Funny or Die’s Eric Appel, who also directed the biopic.
In addition to Radcliffe, Wilson and Wood, the cast also stars Julianne Nicholson and Toby Huss as Weird Al’s parents Mary and Nick Yankovic.
The biopic follows ‘every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like Eat It and Like a Surgeon to his torrid celebrity affairs and famously depraved lifestyle,’ per TVLine.

In addition, the movie will take fans on ‘a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time.’
It was announced Daniel would play Weird Al in the biopic in January 2022 and filming began in February 2022 in Los Angeles.
Daniel, who became a household name playing Harry Potter in that franchise, is a choice that Weird Al himself approves.

It is unknown when the film will premiere but it will debut on The Roku Channel, and a Roku device is not required in order to watch it.
