Dannii urged viewers on Instagram to ‘do it for my mate Shane.’

Dannii previously paid tribute to Shane on Instagram shortly after news broke of his death in 2022, sharing a selfie of the two of them together.

‘I am devastated to wake up to the news that Shane Warne has passed. My heart breaks for his family and friends,’ she began at the time.

‘He was such a light and energy in the room. He was always lovely to my whole family. He knew that I didn’t have a clue about cricket, but he liked that.’

She added: ‘To me, he was just Shane. I can still hear him say, “Hey Disco, how are you?”‘

Warne was found unresponsive in his villa in Koh Samui at around 5.15pm on Friday, March 4 in 2022.

He was later pronounced dead aged 52.

The cricketing legend was on holiday in Thailand with three friends, who spent 20 minutes trying to revive him after they were unable to wake him.

Warne was a giant of cricket, taking a staggering 708 wickets in his 145 Tests for Australia – which was a world record until it was broken by Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan in 2007.

His ball to Gatting is among the most famous deliveries in cricket history, and he also moved into commentary and charity work once he retired from all forms of the game in 2013.
