A man has slid down a roof and jumped into a public pool just to avoid a $7.30 entry fee.

The parkour enthusiastic was seen leaping into the water at Scarborough Beach Pool at the Esplanade in Perth, Western Australia.

Risking being fined thousands of dollars, the ‘daredevil’ skated down the awning shirtless before diving head first into the water.

The swimmer – whose identity is unknown – barely enjoyed a dip before climbing out and walking onto the grass.

The maximum depth of the pools at the aquatic centre is 2.2m deep, and the bath is only a minute or so stroll to Scarborough Beach.

‘Scarborough’s very own Jacques Cousteau,’ spoof website The Bell Tower wryly tweeted with the video, referencing the famous French underwater adventurer.

‘I reckon he had done that before by his confidence in that jump,’ someone speculated.

‘Inches away from a very different video,’ another person remarked.
