This is the brilliant moment that Joe Wright, director of the new Second World War film Darkest Hour, leads 450 MPs in a warm-up rendition of Hey Jude, only stopping when Gary Oldman, who plays Sir Winston Churchill, enters the room.
The clip was captured by actor Samuel West who said he had to wait ‘a year’ to post it.
Oldman, who recently won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of legendary British wartime PM Winston Churchill, received a heroes’ reception as he interrupted the performance.
The clip was uploaded to Twitter.
The footage starts with director Wright conducting the 450 MPs while they sit in a version of the old House of Commons, built specially for the Darkest Hour movie at Leavesden Studios.
The actors, who play the 450 MPs, can be seen swaying and singing-along to the Beatles’ classic track while it blares in the background as they warm-up between scenes.
At the end of the clip, Gary Oldman makes an appearance while dressed as Sir Winston Churchill.

On Tuesday, he revealed to Jimmy Kimmel that the greatest feat he performed in character was to get his wife Gisele Schmidt to agree to marry him, while in heavy prosthetic makeup.

‘So you did not get a chance to consummate as Winston Churchill?’ asked Jimmy, a question which the embarrassed JFK star studiously avoided.
