- The star eats dozens of packets of crisps a day, with his record being 46 in total
- He is hoping the diet has the keys to eventually earning him a PDC Tour card
- On his wedding day, he ate a crisp sandwich while others had a hog roast dinner
A darts star’s bizarre diet has been revealed as he competed for glory in the Modus Super Series tournament in Portsmouth.
The Super Series event is for players who do not hold a PDC Tour card, designed to keep them competitive and earn some money while trying to climb the ladder in the sport.
Welshman Kevin Mills, 35, was hoping to do just that last month in the south of England, currently ranked 236 in the PDC Challenge Tour order of Merit.
And his secret in his bid for success, it seems, it crisps – and it has been revealed he once ate 46 packets in one day – likely to have been over three an hour.
He sticks to his routine no matter what – even on his wedding day – meaning he could well be keeping Walkers in business.
It has been that a darts star has a bizarre eating habit that once saw him eat 46 packets in a day
Kevin Mills only eats crisps and bread and even had a crisp sandwich on his wedding day
Modus Super Series commentators said during his match against Danny Jansen last month: ‘Mills has a very interesting diet. A diet that he even used on his wedding day.
‘It involves two ingredients and that’s all he eats in his life, two ingredients – bread and crisps.
‘So on his wedding day everybody else had a hog roast and he was sat there with a crisp sandwich.
‘I wonder what Christmas dinners are like around his house? So everybody’s got all the turkey, the trimmings, this massive meal, and he’s just sat there with a crisp sandwich and a bit of butter.
‘He’s told us that his record for most packets of crisps in a day is 46. He’s had 46 packets of crisps in one day.’
Mills himself has spoken out on his habit, exclaiming that he is not bothered by people knowing and that he in fact welcomes it.
It has been revealed that his flavour of choice is either ready salted or cheese and onion.
He said of the revelation going public: ‘Newspapers, radio, it’s just everywhere, all over the internet. It doesn’t bother me. You know, no publicity is bad publicity.
‘It gets me up there, it’s not what I came down here to get in the news for, but I’ll take it.’
